In 2005 I was asked to participate in the Scope Art Fair. At the entrance of the Flat Hotel where the fair was held that year, I Installed a set of maps for visitors. These maps showed you the 28 locations where 84 works were installed in the Time Square Area. For every 20 maps available there was one limited edition pamphlet that held the transcription of a phone interview done by randomly pulling a name from the phonebook for each letter in the alphabet. Each phonebooth, garage entrance, subway entrance, and garbage can was fully wrapped so that all sides became part of one image. Production for this project took over 4 months and an incredible amount of money and energy. Not 3 hours after the installation, over 75 percent of the works had been removed and the Scope Art fair was threatened with a lawsuit that resulted in them pulling me from the fair entirely. It was a sad day for PublicAdCampaign to say the least. With no time to document the work before it was removed, what remains is a small glimpse of the project.
